MCP Mail Groups
The remainder of this page discusses the brand new MCP Mail Groups.
General Information
MCP Mail Groups are brand new and give us all a simplified method of open communication with each other.
Only existing group members can use these email addresses - nobody else can touch them. Any member of one of these mail groups can send email messages to their own group. Only I can use the MCP Main group. If a message is sent to one of these groups, everyone in that group will receive it. If anyone abuses any of these groups they will be removed from the group. I can also restrict the groups so only I can send out email to them if it ever becomes necessary.
The idea here is that if you are on an MCP group, you should be able to send out an email message to one simple email address and all other members in your group will be able to read and reply to your email message. If you are a beta tester, simply email
mcp-beta@mcpfx.com and you will be able to get help from all of the other beta testers. This is a great way to support each other, without having to expose everyone's email address. Your email address will only be known by others if you actually send a message or if you reply to one.
Maintaining these mail groups is a completely manual process for me. I have to do everything by hand, one item at a time. For this reason, please allow up to 24 hours for any changes to take effect. If the changes still aren't working correctly after 24 hours it probably means I forgot - please send a reminder email in these cases.
Instructions for addition, email address changes or removal for these mail groups is at the bottom of this page. Here are the descriptions for each of the mail groups:
MCP Main
mcp@mcpfx.comJoin type: Automatic. If you are manually added to another group, you will also receive emails from this group.
This is the main MCP group which is a merge of all other MCP groups and it is the only 100% dynamic group. If I add or remove someone from the other MCP groups, it will automatically adjust this group. Again, only I can spam you using this address. :)
Side note... I am not sure if I send an email to this address and you are signed up on multiple groups if you will receive only one message or multiple messages. So please, let me know what you are seeing when I use this address.
MCP Members
mcp-members@mcpfx.comJoin type: Semi-automatic. If you donate to the MCP Project, I will add you here. It's just a matter of time.
This group consists of everyone that has donated to the MCP project, either through PayPal or with their support and time.
MCP Users
mcp-users@mcpfx.comJoin type: Manual. By written request only.
This group is a list of users that have asked to be kept informed of MCP releases. This group will only receive email about public releases of MCP or other offerings. You will never receive information about beta releases... for that you must join the MCP Beta group.
MCP Beta
mcp-beta@mcpfx.comJoin type: Manual. By written request only.
This group only contains two users currently (myself and one person that signed up for it). Nobody else is on this list. If you want to be informed about beta releases, you have to request to be added to this group.
MCP Mesh
mcp-mesh@mcpfx.comJoin type: Nuclear. If you sign up for
MCP Mesh, I will eventually add you here. Sorta automatic.
This group only contains members who have signed up and are actively syncing devices using the new MCP Mesh project. If you want need the latest daily builds of MCP you must first sign up at
http://mesh.com using a Windows Live ID (you can use your normal email address) and then email
sgt-d@mcpfx.com and let me know you are ready to be added to the MCP Mesh, and what email address you used to sign up for MCP Mesh so I can properly share it with you.
