BlackBerry Master Control Program 0.9.2.0 Beta 9b

There was a bug in Beta 9:  Windows Vista and Windows 7 users (32 and 64 bits) had to run MCP with "Windows XP SP3" compatibility mode turned on.

This is now fixed in Beta 9b.  Go get it!  Once installed you do NOT have to use "Windows XP SP3" compatibility mode...  and you should NOT have to do this even if you are running Windows 64-Bit versions.

BlackBerry Master Control Program 0.9.2.0 Beta 9

Released 9/1/09

(Ok, that's weird...  Build 0.9.1.9, released on 9/1/09)

Changes in Beta 9:

Full support for RIM Java Loader 5.0.0 Beta 3.

All dialog formatting (long sentence "wrapping") has been fixed for Windows Vista/7.

Changes in Beta 8:

The only change in Beta 8 is that the option to check automatically for MCP Files (on the settings page) is now unchecked by default for clean installations.

All remaining notes are changes that took place in Beta 7.

Release notes for this build:  beta7.txt

All other notes, while still unorganized are in the official Readme.

Changes in Beta 7.

Startup focus problem finally fixed!  Holy hell that was annoying!

  Alt+F4 = Close MCP

PortableApps installer slightly fixed

Logging improvements

Welcome, About and Translations pages - images are now contained on one frame or "panel", and this panel now shifts to the center of the window if mcp is resized

MCP is laughing at you

Added "fun" jokes in the help gutter.

This can only be controlled via the ini file:

    [settings]
    lol=1 <- 1 is enabled, 0 is disabled
lolx1=15 <- time (in seconds) of user inactivity before bashing them :>
lolx2=7 <- time (in seconds) to show each comment/joke

Added two easter eggs

Added exception checking during startup

Added exception checking during os install

Improved logging, particularly during os install

MFI MultiLoader and Radio Lab Tools paths were cross-threaded, fixed

Hint for CrackUtil path fixed

Verbose logging now shows computer name, current windows user account, and if that user is a local admin or limited user

Added mcp.exe /nopin - allows you to click the "install os" button without a device connected and without a pin selected.

Added mcp.exe /regdump - attempts to take a snapshot of the rim registry keys at the time of the os install and when mcp closes.  yyyymmdd-hhmmss-ms_ - before/after . txt <- in the main mcp folder.  for debuggging, include these txt files with your log file when emailing me.

I will add to this list as I remember things.

Head over to the Beta Releases page now to get your copy!

Honestly...  this is the best build of MCP so far...  but if you don't want to use the beta please visit the Stable Releases page for the old version.
